What is this test?
➤ A urine pregnancy test can find the HCG hormone about a week after a missed period. During the first 8 to 10 weeks of pregnancy, hCG levels normally increase very rapidly. These levels reach their peak at about the 10th week of pregnancy, and then they gradually decline until delivery.
Test Preparations
➤ Midstream collection, don’t collect the first or last part of urine that comes out.
➤ Specimens may be refrigerated up to 24 hours if a delay cannot be avoided.
